ABOUT THE ARTIST

 

 

Jacob Edward Stiltner is a Miami-based artist who lives in South Florida. He received his BA in Art from Florida International University in 2021, as well as his MFA at Florida International University in 2025.

 

In 2021, he had his first group exhibition at Laundromat Art Space, exploring sculpture and symbols of idolatry. 

 

 In 2023, he won the Green Space Miami Award for participating in the DISplaced exhibition, an exhibition focusing on the themes of displacement and complexities of home, identity, and resilience in Miami. He was a visiting artist for Creative Vizcaya, leading an engaging watercolor painting class with an emphasis on the historic site with the local elementary and high schools. 

 

In 2024, he had his first drawing and painting solo show at the Miami Beach Visual Arts Gallery, exploring materiality and spirituality. He taught his first Beginning Drawing class at Florida International University as an instructor of record for one year. 

 

He is currently an Emerging Artist for the Coconut Grove Arts Festival for Spring 2025.
