My practice utilizes drawing as a form of endurance and meditation to find stillness in obsession. I seek to find sense in the nonsense. By reducing the work down to their most essential components, the work becomes both about itself and of the unconscious. Symbols, images and language return to lines, dots, and grids. Reclaiming mind, body, and spirit from a state of negligence, exploitation, and despondency.
My work ranges from pieces on canvas, acrylic sheets, paper, cardboard, and metal objects. Each surface provides unique ways of approaching the piece. I approach each surface differently and will combine a variety of mediums such as: Glue, tempura, graphite, ink, caulk paste, latex, yarn, rice paper, etc. The work ranges in scale from small sheets of canvas or notebook paper to whole rolls of paper or cardboard.
